Introducing Coach House
Come on in, the water's fine.

It’s too hot.

It feels like the sun is mad at me.
And we are doing work on our back deck so every time a dog has to pee we have to walk them, and the sun seems mad at my poor dog too.
We drove up to Michigan last night.
Hopefully the sun is a little less mad here.

Introducing Coach House

Back in February 2024, I wandered into Kayrouz deli on Frankfort and ate a reuben that changed my life.
It was one of those weird winter days pretending to be spring and I went for a long walk to get some fresh air.
I was frustrated by the nature of networking in Louisville.
It felt like every connection happened by 1:1 email where someone was asking for an introduction because they needed something, or big chamber networking meat markets where everyone needed something.
There wasn’t an opportunity to just meet a cool person with no strings attached.
So, I sat eating a delicious sandwich in a completely empty deli, trying to figure out this networking problem.
It was really good.
Why was there no one in here?
“We’ve only been here a few months. I just don’t think anyone knows we’re here yet.”

I sent an email to a bunch of great people.
No agenda. I’m not buying lunch. Just come and meet some great people and give this new restaurant some business.
10ish people came.
Now that invite goes to over 140 people every month.
The unfortunate nature of being a coach, consultant, work-from-homer, hustler, entrepreneur, or young parent is a distinct lack of real community.
We are all members of once-a-month professional networking groups.
We sit on great non-profit boards that meet once-a-quarter.
But the persistent neighborhoods and third places that used to create real, lasting, long-term friendships have been largely replaced by LinkedIn spam messages and piles of business cards from networking events that go nowhere.
That's why I built Coach House.

A digital home place and hub for real human beings to connect, offer -and ask for- help, meet new people, and get better together.
It's a work in progress, but I hope you join us there.
We may add some paid content in the future, but for now, everything is free.

Small talk is what connects us as people, and big talk is what separates us.
Molly’s Miso Mayo

As a quick follow up to our story from two weeks ago, Mayonnaise & Breast Milk, Molly Baz just released a fourth Ayoh! mayo flavor: Miso.
Thought you ought to know.
