Cross universe interviews
Sinek x Collier / Ferriss x Sanderson / Scherer x Giertz

There is something deeply satisfying about favorite content creators showing up in other favorite content creator’s content. The quality of that sentence is evidence that I don't write this with AI.
There have been some absolutely bangers of cross-universe interviews recently.
Speaking of crossing universes, you could go ahead and cross this universe with another one. Like a friend’s email inbox universe. There’s even a button for it. It says forward on it.

Simon Sinek x Jacob Collier

If you read this newsletter for some reason, you probably know I love both Simon Sinek and Jacob Collier.
You can imagine my excitement when they decided to discuss a variety of beautiful things that I understand at about the same level as my 2-year-old understands long division.
“There was a moment when I was probably about two years old as well … I remember sitting on my mother’s lap. She was playing the violin - she was a violinist. And I remember looking up, and seeing the violin above me and being like “I’m the violin. I’m the music that’s being played.””
I’ve already talked about Jacob Collier’s Little Blue Maghogany session here, but check out the interview below. It’s pretty special.
Tim Ferriss x Brandon Sanderson

Brandon Sanderson and Tim Ferriss could not be more different on the surface.
Tim is a legendary, fit, bio-hacking, tech entrepreneur.
Brandon is a nerdy fantasy author who looks like a nerdy fantasy author.
Brandon Sanderson is also an unbelievably prolific author of dozens of books, the man behind the highest-grossing Kickstarter of all time (which made it on my gift guide last year), and dude giving away free lectures on how to write.
You cannot taste a memory without tainting it with who you’ve become.
Check out Brandon Sanderson on the Tim Ferriss show this week here or wherever you get podcasts.

Josh Scherer x Simone Giertz

Two people with difficult to pronounce last names.
Mythical Chef Josh Scherer was brought into the content world by Rhett and Link of Good Mythical Morning fame and has since spawned his own incredibly successful YouTube channel, written a NYT #1 best-selling cookbook, and become one of my favorite food-based celebrity interview YouTube show hosts. Also Sean Evans (who he interviewed here) from Hot Ones.
Simone has the weirdest resume of anyone here. Most people know her as the Queen of Shitty Robots. She also
was born in Sweden
went to China at 16 as a foreign exchange student and ended up on a Chinese sitcom
converted a Tesla Model 3 into a pickup truck before the Cybertruck was announced
Lived on a houseboat
had a giant brain tumor removed
I’ve been following her since about 2018 and she remains one of my absolute favorite makers online. Somehow wholesome and not. Extremely talented while making mistakes.
Simone was recently on Mythical Kitchen’s show Last Meals. If you want to watch someone eat food that looks good, watch the Sean Evans episode above. If you want to watch someone eat weird mystery food in a way that is somehow funny and heartwarming and great, watch the below.
This is the thing. People go straight for the heart, but there’s so much foreplay in the leaves.
be good
